Estimating Buddy

Professional volume calculators for contractors and builders. No fluff, just the math you need on the job.

Square Feet to Square Yards

Convert area units. Divide square feet by 9 to get square yards. Useful for flooring, carpet, tiling, and turf estimates.

Formula: square yards = square feet ÷ 9

Square Feet to Cubic Feet

Calculate exact cubic footage from area and depth. Useful for concrete slabs, planters, soil, and mulch. Enter the area in square feet and the depth in inches or feet.

Formula: cubic feet = square feet × depth (in feet)

To convert depth from inches to feet, divide by 12.

Square Feet to Cubic Yards

Calculate yardage for material ordering. Useful for ordering concrete by the yard, fill dirt, and gravel. Enter the area in square feet and the depth in inches or feet.

Formula: cubic yards = (square feet × depth in feet) ÷ 27

There are 27 cubic feet in one cubic yard.

Borehole Volume

Calculate cylindrical hole volume from diameter and depth. Useful for well drilling, piers, caissons, and post holes. Results shown in both cubic feet and cubic yards.

Formula: volume = π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × depth

Enter the borehole diameter and depth in inches or feet.

Electrical Conduit Parts

Calculate the number of couplers and hangers needed for an electrical conduit run. One coupler and one hanger are required for every 8 linear feet of conduit.

Formula: count = ceil(linear feet ÷ 8)

Wall Framing & Drywall

Calculate framing area and drywall square footage for one or both sides of a wall. Enter the wall length in linear feet and the wall height in feet, then choose whether you are drywalling one or both sides.

Formula: framing area = wall length (ft) × wall height (ft). Drywall area = framing area × number of sides.
